Enhanced Responder Service is unique and innovative service supporting the Care at Home Services within the Inverness area. This a collaborative between four local and established care providers who are committed to its success.

Staff are to work to the Health and Social Care Standards - My life my choice. They are also to comply with the Scottish Social Services Code of Practice and Partnership policies and procedures.

The Enhanced Responder Service main responsibilities are:

  • To facilitate a Pathway Home from Hospital Service
  • To carry out scheduled care during the hours of 7am - 10pm in the City of Inverness
  • To assess the needs of the individual, write support plans and risk assessments.

Primary duties and responsibilities

  • Provide scheduled and response care and support visits
    • Personal care
      • Washing, applying cream
      • Incontinence care
      • Dressings
      • Catheter and stoma care
      • Meal Preparation
      • Palliative and End of Life Care
    • Medication
      • Prompting, administering and prescription collection
    • Re-assurance
      • Reassuring client to increase wellbeing and confidence following an incident
      • Checking on general health and wellbeing post hospital discharge
    • Falls
      • Assess situation, check for injury and use suitable equipment to make client safe and comfortable but practicing safe methods of working
    • Safe and Secure
      • Ensure clients feel safe and secure in their homes.
      • They can summon help when required by having their community alarm on
      • The clients home is secure - risk reduction
  • Assessing clients needs
    • Staff should have the capability and knowledge to assess clients, write support plans and risk assessments
  • Information Sharing
    • Communicate effectively as part of an Enhanced Multi Agency Team. Liaise with other agencies, medical professionals and provide support for non-medical tasks.
    • Share vital information by having clear and concise records.
  • Problem Solving
    • Recognising and solving problems before they escalate by using your own initiative and having confidence in decision making.

Relevant Job experience


  • Minimum two years previous care and support experience
