Support Practitioner - Kirkhill

We are currently recruiting Support Practitioners to work with a local 45 year-old gentleman in his own home based in Kirkhill. This really is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference, to enable him to live independently in his own home. This role will involve personal care, meal preparation, household tasks and accompanying him in social activities.
We are currently recruiting for a full-time member of staff to join the team. Shift times are as follows:
07.30 – 14.45
14.45 – 22.00
You don’t need to have experience of care and support work but you need to be committed to making a difference to people’s lives by delivering high-quality care and support

Main Duties
- Work in accordance with Support Plans through ongoing discussion with, and under the direction of the Assistant Service Manager and designated professional staff; to help meet the individuals’ physical, social and emotional needs.
- Support with personal care needs, mobility, medication and dietary requirements respecting choice and dignity at all times.
- Contribute to enhancing the people we support with daily living which include domestic duties, shopping and social activities.
Person Specification
Essential
- A willingness to become registered with the SSSC and to keep registration up to date.
- Commitment to learning and keeping skills updated.
- Excellent interpersonal skills; an effective and sensitive communicator.
- The ability to communicate with the people we support, their families and a range of other health professionals.
- Have a flexible approach to work and a willingness to embrace and commit to person centred support.
